Looking belly beautiful is simple. Here are a few tips to consider before coming in for your sitting.

Pick the right time. Schedule your session when you are in your seventh or eighth month of pregnancy. Your belly will have a beautiful, full shape.
Remember, when you schedule between weeks 31 and 36 also gives you plenty of time to order additional maternity portraits.
Bring your ultrasound with you. We can take a very special portrait of mama and baby.
Your maternity session could include the father and older children to reflect your pretty growing family.
Showing a bare tummy can be tricky. If you hope to show your bare tummy, wear loose-fitting clothing to avoid elastic/clothing marks.
Avoid any glare. Apply lotion at least an hour before your session to avoid the shining belly-see and staining your clothes.
If you are showing bare skin, attempt to moisturize your knees and elbows.
Hands are in important, too! Get a manicure or a light polish for a more finished see in a close up of your hands around your belly.
Remove tight-fitting clothing and accessories, like watches and bracelets, at least two hours before your session.
You may desire to include a few baby things like a cute pair of shoes or a cherished family heirloom in your portrait.

Parental leave is an employee benefit that provides paid or unpaid time off work to care for a child or make arrangements for the child's welfare. The term "parental leave" includes maternity, paternity, and adoption leave. Often, the minimum benefits are stipulated by law.

To meet the Paid Parental Leave work test you must have:

worked for at least 10 of the 13 months before the birth or adoption of your child, and
worked for at least 330 hours in that 10 month period (just over one day a week), with no more than an eight week gap between two consecutive working days

If pregnancy complications or a premature birth have prevented you from meeting the work test, just let us know. There are some exceptions.

Activities that count as work

A 'working day' is a day you have worked for at least one hour. You can count periods of paid leave towards the work test but periods of unpaid leave do not count.

If you are claiming for a child who will be born or adopted on or after 1 March 2014, you can also count any Paid Parental Leave or Dad and Partner Pay periods you have previously taken in the 13 months before the birth or adoption.

You do not need to be working full-time to be eligible for Parental Leave Pay. You may meet the work test even if you:

are a part-time, casual, or seasonal worker
are a contractor or self-employed
work in a family business
have multiple employers
have recently changed jobs
have worked overseas

If you work for a family business, you can include your hours of work even if the business is not making any income, providing you are doing the work for financial gain or benefit.

The following activities also count as work:

employment at an Australian Disability Enterprise
operating a business while receiving assistance under the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme
farm labour or operating a business while receiving an Exceptional Circumstances Relief Payment
jury service, and
defence reservist work

Periods of workers’ or accident compensation (or similar payments in respect of employment) can also count as work.

Activities that do not count as work

Periods of unpaid leave or voluntary work cannot be included as work.

If your child will be born or adopted before 1 March 2014, any time you solely received government-funded Parental Leave Pay does not count towards the work test, even if it was paid by your employer.

Activities undertaken for Work for the Dole (including Community Development Employment Projects for new participants), Green Corps, Drought Force, the National Green Jobs Corps and other income support programs that include a work component do not count as work.

Payment rate of Parental Leave Pay

The amount of Parental Leave Pay is calculated based on the rate of the National Minimum Wage. Parental Leave Pay is currently $622.10 per week before tax for a maximum of 18 weeks. This is the hourly rate of the National Minimum Wage x 7.6 (hours in a standard working day) x 5 (days in a standard working work). Parental Leave Pay is a taxable payment that can be paid by your employer or by us directly.

Payment by your employer

Your employer will provide your Parental Leave Pay in your usual pay cycle if you:

have worked for them for 12 months or more before the expected date of birth or adoption. For Australian Public Service (APS) employees, all APS employment is included in the employment period
will be their employee until at least the end of your Paid Parental Leave period
are an Australian-based employee, and
expect to receive at least eight weeks of Parental Leave Pay

If you do not meet these criteria, your employer is not required to provide your Parental Leave Pay. However, they can still choose to provide it to you if you both agree for this to happen. For it to happen, your employer will need to register with us and opt-in to provide Parental Leave Pay before you lodge your claim.

If your employer is providing your Parental Leave Pay:

they need to withhold PAYG (Pay As You Go tax withholdings) at the usual rate
they can deduct Child Support from your Parental Leave Pay if required to do so
they are not required to make additional superannuation contributions, but may do so if they wish to
you will be able to access paid leave such as maternity leave at the same time as Parental Leave Pay, but you may be taxed at a higher rate
you may arrange for other deductions to be made from your Parental Leave Pay, and
you may salary-sacrifice some or all of your Parental Leave Pay through voluntary contributions to superannuation

These arrangements (except for PAYG and Child Support deductions) will depend on what you and your employer agree on, in the same way you make agreements about wages.

Here is a 7 tips toward creative maternity photography .

The Great Outdoors:

So many maternity sessions are done in studio. I understand the reasons behind it. Ive been pregnant. 3 more times. Im not the pretty little pregnant. Im the gal find wedged between the double doors at Sizzler. Studio shoots are good because theres privacy.

I cannot argue with that. Especially if you're going to do everything in a state less than fully clothed (which is my way of saying naked PC).

But there is something about being outside. Taking the natural beauty of a woman whos ready to bring a new life into the world and put it in the majesty of well outdoors is simply breathtaking.

2. At Home:

When you shoot a mother you should- to-be in your own home , it is comfortable to let go in a way that it can not be otherwise .

This is a fantastic reason to hold maternity sessions at home. This is not, however , why I do it . As a photographer I feel it is my responsibility to help my subjects feel comfortable and able to give me your best , no matter where we are filming . I pride myself on my ability to do this .

is a big part of my success as a photographer ,I shoot maternity sessions at home primarily because it’s wonderful for a couple to have a capture that truly shows what their life was like at the time their baby came to be a part of their family.

I’m a second generation photographer so I’ve got some really lovely shots of my sweet momma awaiting my arrival. My favorite however is a simple picture of her standing by my bassinet with her hand on her tummy.

3.Simplify:

Don't Worry about where you shoot, studio, house, outside, 7Eleven, youve got to simplify your surroundings.

The beauty of a mom anticipating the arrival of her child should be captured in a way that allows the miracle to speak for itself. Pregnancy doesnt require every else to be gift in a photograph to help say its story.

Everything in the frame that may not belong will simply serve to distract from the story thats already being told, naturally. Pay attention to background.

4.Help Her Feel Beautiful:

Women don’t generally feel very sexy when they’re gravid. Understandably so, and trust me I connect with this feeling as much as the next gal.

But just because an expectant mother doesn’t feel sexy, that doesn’t mean she’s not totally knock out.

Bring that out in her. Pull that beauty out of her. A good way to do this is by talking as you shoot.

It’s perfectly appropriate to say things like: Thats beautiful! Yes, perfect! Oh thats just LOVELY. Pregnancy looks good on you girl! Whatever works! If youre a male photographer youll need to be cautious about what you say in this mad world of sexual harassment,

but youre even more capable of pulling the beauty out of her than a female photographer. Its one thing when your girlfriend tells you youre lovely, but when your girlfriends brother tells you that youre looking fine, you actually believe it. Obviously be careful and be real. The success of this tip will depend upon your personality, but you can help her help herself. If she feels lovely shell see a whole heck of a lot better. Its that easy.

5. Highlight Relationship:

Hopefully new babies are coming into a loving house. always try to include photographs that highlight the tender relationship between mom and father, because bringing a child into the world with someone is arguably love in its purest form.

6. Do not forget the brothers or the dog for that matter:

Remember that often a baby is coming into an established family unit (not to say that Mom and Dad alone arent an established family unit but for the sake of my point, go with me on this one). If the siblings are available, make clear to include them in at least a few frames.

I have to mention the dog, because Ive got a sister-in-law whos dog, Wanda (seriously thats her name) is her pride and joy. When she and her hubby have kids, you can trust that Wanda will be right there in at least a handful of her maternity photos. Shes as much a part of the family as the next guy.

7.Give ‘em Something Different:

Don’t just shoot what’s always been shot. This is a good general rule of photography. I really try to be “consistently inconsistent”.

Let me explain, you’ve got to approach each shoot as it’s own. I’m very committed as a photographer to tailoring each shoot for the subject I’m photographing. Like I said before, this is a good general rule that applies particularly to maternity photography.

Even though millions and millions of mothers have given birth to millions and millions of babies for millions and millions of years, a momma-to-be needs to feel like her pregnancy is miraculous, special and sacred, that the things she’s experiencing are unique only to her. Because they are.
